This year’s theme, Unearthed, focuses on uncovering lesser-known histories, immerse yourself in the fascinating past of Buderim and its western slope, where the Buderim-Palmwoods tramway once played a vital role in shaping the region. Volunteers from the Buderim-Palmwoods Heritage Tramway Inc. (BPHTI) will bring history to life with engaging stories about this early 20th-centrury transport link.

How to Participate

Walk Details:  The full track is 4km long, but you can walk at your own pace.

  • Parking: Limited on-site parking; additional parking is available along the road.

  • Accessibility: The track is relatively flat and wheelchair accessible.

  • Facilities: No toilets or refreshments on-site, closest amenities Buderim Village.

  • What to Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, water, insect repellent, and a curious mind.

Step Back in Time

Experience the rich heritage of the Buderim-Palmwoods Tramway, which operated from 1914 to 1935. This narrow-gauge tramway once transported local produce and passengers, fostering growth and connectivity in the region.
