Our first lecture for the year is one not to be missed. Members and visitors will be treated to a two-part Special Interest Afternoon” “Maestros, Music, Magnificence and Misfortunes” with Nigel Bates, who is returning to the Sunshine Coast for the first time on 15 years.

Part 1. is “They Make No Noise” which explores the role and mystique of Conductors and

Part 2. is “Tiaras and Tantrums” where Nigel shows the way artistic inspirations, the people involved and the very special Victorian building, all function together to create world-class opera and ballet in a unique environment. Nigel’s presentations include rare video footage of rehearsals and performances.
